I Got This.

I don't remember where I read it, but I recently read that sometimes you have to sacrifice what you want right now to get what you want more than anything, and it really clicked. This is exceedingly true when it comes to weight loss/getting healthy. Do you guys remember when I freaked out about eating chips and a fruit cup on a Saturday, instead of just picking one or the other? And now, it's like I eat everything in sight, all weekend long. And I still can't figure out what the answer is. Some sort of "meet me halfway" thing? I don't know. But I do know that if I want to figure out a way to have a healthy lifestyle for my whole life, I have to get it figured out. And I have to keep working on it. This "all or nothing" mentality just isn't going to fly in the long run. So I'm working on it.

Yesterday, I ate 1,208 calories. I walked 1.862 miles in 30 minutes on my treadmill. And I drank 2 gallons of water.

It's amazing how much better your body feels after just 1 day on plan.

I got this. I just have to remember that I got this, even when I don't.

One day at a time.

Laura,

If it is at all possible for you, stop weighing yourself. It is truly freeing. When you let go of that number you open yourself up to healthy living. The pressure is gone. You can concentrate on your varied interests, activities. You've already won.

Question about the survey at the top: what about calorie counting? That's the diet I've mainly been on and I think it's arguably one of the best. Or do you count that under plain old healthy eating?

Fantastic post. I'm going to bookmark it for the times when I sit and talk myself out of being successful.
