Yesterday's Food:
- Green Monster smoothie (1 cup 2% milk, 1/2 cup water, banana, scoop of MET-Rx vanilla protein powder, big handful spinach)
- A Hershey's chocolate truffle at the in-law's
- 1 slice pepperoni and onion and 1 slice pineapple and ham pizza, and 1/2 macadamia cookie at Dion's
- 24 oz. fountain Dr Pepper at the car wash
- Some mini organic cheese sandwich crackers
- Some vegetable crackers (would have been really good with Laughing Cow cheese)
- A bowl of Kashi Heart to Heart cereal with 2% milk
- 2 Baskin Robins Cookies 'n Cream hard candies and a small Jolly Rancher
- Some more mini organic cheese sandwich crackers
- Some beef flour tortilla taquitos with salsa (didn't keep track of how many but stopped when I was full)
Blah. Eating like this just makes me feel like crap.
Really the problem is that I'm snacking too much. And every day I tell myself I'm going to eat Intuitively today, and then I don't. Why? It's not a diet, it's not like I'm restricting ANYTHING. If I wanted to eat some cheese crackers, I could, just make sure I stop when I'm satisfied. What's so hard about that? Nothing. I've been doing it successfully for, what, 6 weeks now? So why was this week such a disaster? I don't know. I've got to get it figured out. Definitely tracking food today.

I've read that when people first start Intuitive Eating its really common to find that all the body 'wants' to eat is the unhealthy stuff its been denied for a while. I haven't tried it myself, but the book I read said everything evens out once you get used to the idea that there are no more restrictions or rules - so don't panic! (Easy for me to say - the reason I haven't tried it is that I'm afraid I'd never snap out of it!) I'm sure soon you'll find yourself craving the foods that make you feel stronger and healthier again, and everything will get a lot easier!
Good luck!
